Company Background

Asentria is the leader in Remote Site Monitoring and TeleManagement solutions, with a family of proven products that deliver monitoring, access and control.

Organizations today depend upon their networks to increase productivity and reduce network infrastructure and maintenance costs. Accordingly, these networks must perform reliably, in order to accommodate geographically dispersed users.

This will not be accomplished through more boxes, more complexity or more single capability solutions. The solution is found at the critical juncture where remote equipment sites link distributed networks, and connect to the centralized network management system - where all the remote monitoring, access, control and security are required, and integrated within a cohesive platform.

With Asentria solutions, network service providers can provide customers with reliable connectivity from any location. Customers can rely on network services that are delivered with minimal downtime, IT personnel gain a dramatic improvement in quickly resolving remote site equipment and environmental problems, and organizations reduce their overall remote site infrastructure and maintenance costs.

Over 10,000 organizations and service providers worldwide rely upon Asentria as the leader in remote site monitoring - ensuring proactive remote site monitoring that can make the difference between an inconsequential event and critical downtime.

Asentria adds intelligent and proactive monitoring, manageability, and control to remote equipment sites, while allowing your networks to fulfill their design potential.

Isn’t Network Monitoring the Network Management System’s Job?

Traditional network management systems weren’t designed to support the demands of today’s distributed networks with remote towers, BSTs, huts, base stations, etc. It’s a common problem that requires new thinking. Throwing more monitoring devices, power cycling equipment and remote access gear into remote sites isn’t the answer for building the flexible, integrated architecture that’s required for today’s business environment. There is a better way.

The single greatest challenge to providing reliable network service levels at remote locations is the lack of onsite IT support staff to monitor, access and control remote site equipment and environmental conditions.  IT departments are constantly being pressured to do more with less, and for many organizations, adequately staffing IT resources at remote locations is too cost prohibitive. As a result, the IT staff at central headquarters are left with limited options to effectively manage service levels at remote locations.

The network management systems (NMS) they use provide adequate infrastructure monitoring for a single location, but cannot always  reliably extend this visibility across multiple remote locations, due to their inherent dependency upon network connectivity. Network administrators are left with dialup or wireless access methods which provide out-of-band connectivity during a network outage or disruption at a remote site.

However, if their tools stop there, then they lack the actionable means to actually repair a problem once it has been diagnosed. The net result is that even if an administrator is able to gain remote access to a site, they still don’t have the management control to successfully repair or reboot remote devices. Therefore, if the problem cannot be addressed manually via an out-of-band connection, additional resources must be dispatched onsite to resolve the problem. This increases support costs and reduces network and application availability for remote employees.

Asentria Remote Site Management products proactively monitor equipment, environmental conditions and cycle power in remote or understaffed locations to increase productivity, reliability and reduce costs. This allows network operators to shield end-users from equipment failure, and provides a single unified platform, enabling network management to be simplified, consolidated, more reliable, and more cost-effective.
