Asentria Introduces SiteBoss Series of Remote Site Controllers
to Improve Management of Remote Data and Communications Equipment

All-in-one solutions allow service providers and network managers to securely monitor, access, control and collect data from their remote equipment sites

SEATTLE – October 1, 2007 – Asentria, a leading provider of remote site monitoring and telemanagement solutions, today introduced the SiteBoss series of remote site controllers designed to address the monitoring challenges presented by remote data and communications equipment. The SiteBoss product line provides powerful, flexible and cost-effective choices for ISPs, WISPs, MSPs and network managers who need to securely monitor, access, control and collect data from their infrastructure located within remote network equipment sites.

“With broadband alternatives proliferating quickly, a few service interruptions or reliability problems can cause customers to jump ship in droves,” says Tim Stoner, founder and CEO of Asentria. “Companies that provide network services to corporate customers must be able to monitor remote factors that have a direct effect on uptime, and correct situations proactively before a failure occurs. Also, corporate customers need to control and simplify secure access to third-party service providers, while at the same time eliminating multiple costly management devices.”

The SiteBoss series includes a range of low-end to high-end stand-alone monitoring hardware devices that are deployed at remote sites where monitoring and management are required. The controllers are scalable and economical, easy to set up and use, and provide a variety of secure options for in-band and out-of-band remote access. SiteBoss offers a powerful set of versatile and intelligent monitoring and control features that enable users to immediately detect and react to potential threats at remote equipment sites to prevent downtime. Key features include:

  • Modular Design. SiteBoss products come in a compact 1U rack unit. Onboard expansion slots host additional I/O and interface cards to meet exact monitoring requirements. Options include dialup, wireless and ADSL modems, contact and analog inputs, relays and a series of Asentria ready-made environmental sensors. SiteBoss’s modular design makes it easy and cost-effective to scale systems as applications grow.

  • Secure Access to Remote Sites. SiteBoss provides fast connectivity to remote sites. However, connectivity is a liability without security. SiteBoss provides comprehensive security options such as 3DES, AES, SSH, SFTP, HTTPS, easy to configure one-step VPN to ensure secure point-to-point connections. SiteBoss also facilitates pass-through sessions with connected serial devices, as well as other devices on the same remote network via PPP Routing and Remote Access. With SiteBoss, service providers can offer new revenuegenerating services not previously possible because of security concerns or logistical difficulties.

  • Visibility into Remote Alarm Conditions. SiteBoss can monitor legacy devices, power supplies and other equipment that issue alarms via a serial port, contact closures, voltage inputs or other sensors. Sensors can be added to monitor conditions such as intrusion, temperature, water, battery conditions and more. SiteBoss simplifies the task of monitoring diverse equipment and forwarding alarms to e-mail, SNMP traps and easily integrates into standard network management systems.

  • Monitoring of Co-Located Devices. SiteBoss can monitor co-located devices through Web interfaces, SNMP devices, Syslog records, SQL records and more through extensions to its powerful scripting language.

  • Control of Remote Equipment. Minimizing truck rolls saves time and money. Using passthrough connectivity, SiteBoss allows network managers to remotely send commands to enable or disable power systems, manage devices, change equipment configuration parameters, connect remote users to restricted ports and more.

“Asentria’s keen insight into the market needs of telecommunications services providers has enabled us to advance our capabilities while consistently exceeding customer expectations,” said Frank Knapp, CEO at Alarms Pro. “With the new SiteBoss product line, they are addressing today’s business and technical needs, while providing a next-generation product that enables us to deliver optimal service quality and uptime.”

Pricing and Availability

The Asentria SiteBoss Series will be available Q4 2007. Pricing will range from $800 to $5,450, depending on the model.
