The SiteBoss S570 is specifically designed for one particular application:
1) Remote Cabinet Monitoring and Control- The S570 is a powerful Linux-based hardware product with a number of specialized features. It is specifically designed for use in a DC power environment. Like the rest of the SiteBoss product line, it can be used to monitor environmental conditions, batteries, or other equipment. It is particularly designed to be used in new cellular or broadband wireless sites in Base Tranceiver Stations (BTS) for two purposes. One is that the S570 is to be used specifically as a DC power control device. All the power to the equipment in a remote BTS location is connected through the 10 relays within the S570 unit. This allows the unit to reboot any piece of attached equipment in the remote site. The other purpose, which is common to other SiteBoss products, is remote wireless (GPRS, EDGE) modem connectivity. This allows for connectivity to the remote BTS location should a primary connectivity method, like Microwave backhaul, fail. The combined ability to do DC reboot and wireless modem access to BTS is the primary purpose of this unit.
The website brochure describes both the S570 and the newer S570A. The differences in the two units is in the configuration of DC relays on the units.
S570 - Has (10) 500 watt high-current relays. 10amps at up to 60V (peak)
S570A - Has (9) 500 watt high-current relays (same as S570), and replaces one of the S570’s (10) 500 watt relays with an 1800 watt relay. 30amps at up to 60V (peak)
The 1800 watt relay in the S570A is specifically designed to work with several prominent WiMAX transceiver manufacturer’s equipment which requires switching (re-boot) at 30amps @ -48VDC. The S570A is specifically designed to work in WiMAX basestations that require switching of this type of equipment.
