Monitor and control remote site factors that put your equipment at risk. Equipment failures and environmental hazards such as temperature, humidity, water or intrusion can cripple your network. The SiteBoss 530 helps you prevent downtime from environmental factors and misbehaving legacy equipment at your remote sites. Why allow these elements to remain dangerously outside the scope of your network management system when you can integrate them now with the SiteBoss 530?
Many sites include devices with serial ports for remote management, such as legacy equipment, power supplies, phone systems, or routers. The S530 provides pass-through serial connectivity for up to 26 serial devices via secure network or modem connection. You can also dial into the S530 to access other devices on the network. When these devices issue a serial string alarm, the S530 identifies the specific alarm text and carries out the alert procedure you assigned to that alarm.
Add up to six expansion cards to the S530 to meet the exact I/O and communication needs of your specific application. The SiteBoss 530-2 offers two expansion slots whereas the 530-6 has six expansion slots. Communication options include RS232 ports, cellular, ADSL, or dialup modems. Sensor card options include analog voltage, 4-20ma inputs, contact inputs, or relay outputs. Sensors can be used to proactively detect power and battery failures or other threatening conditions such as fires, floods or overheating before your critical equipment is damaged or destroyed. The S530 also offers an optional on-board temperature sensor.
S530 expansion options allow you to configure a perfect monitoring and management solution to fit your remote site needs, eliminating unnecessary and costly options you don’t need. The S530 provides the most customized, cost-effective monitoring and management solution for your remote sites, especially if they require scalability or multiple monitoring points.
Many less sophisticated or legacy devices indicate alarm states only via contact closure outputs. These devices are easy to monitor by connecting them to a contact closure input on the S530. Using contact closure monitoring you can integrate backup power, electronic equipment, door contacts, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and many other types of outputs from legacy and basic remote site equipment.
Alarms can be transmitted as SNMP Traps, E-mail, TCP/IP or dialup messages. With flexible messaging capabilities, customized alarms can be received and displayed within your existing SNMP management system, or you can use our desktop-based AlarmManager™ software.
Using the SiteBoss 530 in conjunction with Asentria’s SitePath Remote Management System, you can create secure and controlled IP access to remote servers and appliances collocated on the same remote network as the S530. SiteBoss plus SitePath provides access granularity to individually approved network addresses and prevents access to any other addresses on the remote LAN. Users access remote devices via the SitePath VPN Gateway. Access rights can be tailored per user. SitePath uses a highly integrated IPSEC VPN implementation which simplifies the otherwise complex VPN setup down to a few easy steps.
Advanced intelligence and communications capabilities along with modular expansion cards make the S530 system adaptable to a variety of situations. If you don’t see what you are looking for, give us a call. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your custom application.
