The SiteBoss 550 Remote Site Controller gives you the power and flexibility you need to keep equipment running at your remote equipment sites. Using the S550 you can manage network, serial, and sensor devices to detect and correct environmental factors and misbehaving equip-ment at your remote sites. Why allow these elements to remain dangerously outside the scope of your network management system when you can integrate them now with the SiteBoss 550?
The SiteBoss S550 has up to six expansion slots for adding serial ports, cellular, ADSL, or dialup modems, and sensor options such as voltage inputs, 4-20ma inputs, contact inputs, or relay outputs. The S550-2 has two expansion slots whereas the S550-6 has six expansion slots.
Sensors can be used to proactively detect power and battery failures as well as other threatening conditions such as fires, floods or overheating before your critical equipment is damaged or destroyed. Using contact closure monitoring you can integrate backup power, electronic equipment, door contacts, smoke and many other types of sensors and outputs from legacy and basic remote site equipment.
The S550 provides pass-through serial connectivity for up to 26 remote serial devices. When these devices issue a serial string alarm, the S550 identifies the specific alarm text and carries out the alert procedure you assigned to that alarm. Connectivity to the S550 can be accomplished via web, telnet or SSH.
Using the SiteBoss 550 in conjunction with Asentria’s SitePath Remote Management System, you can create secure and controlled IP access to remote servers and appliances collocated on the same remote network as the S550. SitePath uses a highly integrated IPSEC VPN implementation which simplifies the otherwise complex VPN setup down to a few easy steps, and users access remote devices via the SitePath VPN Gateway. The SiteBoss 550 with SitePath provides IP routing to authorized remote network addresses, and prevents access to any other addresses on the remote LAN.
The S550 provides LUA scripting which allows users to implement powerful, customized scripts to manage and monitor serial and networked devices as well as onboard sensor devices. Using LUA scripts you can implement custom protocols and interrogate networked and serial devices. LUA scripts can be used to independently evaluate alarm conditions and take proactive autonomous actions to correct those conditions.
Alarms can be transmitted as SNMP Traps, E-mail, TCP/IP or dialup messages. With flexible messaging capabilities, customized alarms can be received and displayed within your existing SNMP management system, or you can use Asentria’s desktop-based AlarmManager™ software.
Advanced intelligence and communications capabilities along with modular expansion cards make the S550 controller adaptable to a variety of situations. If you don’t see what you are looking for, give us a call. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your custom application.
